Lifeworldtext is a creative textual space interested in expressions of social concern about the lifeworld and our place in it. It proposes a renewed opening towards entrenched ideologies and immovable dogma in a dialogues movement that borrows from ethics rather than politics.
One of the fundamental assumption is that the printed page, in any medium, provides a significantly different experience for the viewing subject, allowing both eye and mind to see and think and feel outside of the temporal constraints of our mass mediated existence.
In the end it seems only fitting that the art produced in static two-dimensional form be allowed to rest once more, if only for a moment, in its original state, a repose transfixed between millennia of traditional knowledge and practice and the ambitions of virtual representation and dissemination.
Lifeworldtext is committed to publishing art and cultural projects that are innovative while also deeply steeped in traditional artistic practices. While this commitment is currently restricted to electronic media, we hope to produce a variety of projects that will become new multi-media forms of expression and reflection.
Lifeworld E-Publishing has created E-Publications to showcase the art in the documentary series A Second Look and will make these available for a modest fee to those prefer the traditional coffee table version of fine art books.
Two other books, Down the Organization by M. V. Ouellet and Sign-Language, poetry by Pierre Ouellet are also available at this time. In 2019-20, the company will also e-publish a series of essays on art and culture and a second collection of poetry by Pierre Ouellet as well as the work of other authors associated with Project Lifeworld.
